Coughs and colds

These are common, self-limited viral respiratory infections that require only symptomatic treatment. Antibiotics are generally not needed. Most episodes end within 14 days. Please see a doctor if symptoms persist.10

Cold symptoms differ from flu symptoms, as they are usually milder. Please refer to Influenza for information regarding the flu.
