The Travel Health Advisory Group recommends that travellers visit their GP at least six weeks prior to travelling overseas for travel health advice. Your doctor will need to know details of your planned trip including the countries you plan to visit, length of stay in each country, time of year in each country (season), type of accommodation (hotel or tent) and type of travel (part of tour or independent). As an alternative to your GP, travel clinics also offer travel health advice. See links below for further information.
